According to Joe, "Free with A.C.I.D." refers not to those paper squares which were popular in those days, but to the Augusta College ID card. The Scorchers, and Stipe and company were well received by dedicated Augusta College and Medical College of Georgia-going fans wearing camouflage and safari attire, and a few unsuspecting bystanders. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" was played that night, appropriate to the party's Safari Night Party theme.

The location of the Wuxtry (not including the store next door which they annexed in 1990 or so) where Stipe and Buck met used to be a shoe repair shop. The metal awning on the roof looks like it is the same one in the photo from 1915-20.
